A bit of fun on day two below the line

cheeseToday was rather uneventful, apart from laughing hysterically at hubby gagging on his final mouthful of porridge at the breakfast table. I’m not sure why we found it so funny. Maybe we just needed to remind ourselves that laughter doesn’t cost anything.

My homemade-cheese-from-yogurt experiment was entirely successful so ‘poverty’ helped me learn a new skill and forced me to be a bit more resourceful than usual.

I enjoyed an afternoon walk along the river with a friend, a nice dinner of lentil curry with hubby and spent the rest of the day reflecting on what it might feel like to actually live in extreme poverty.

My conclusion is that the 1.2 billion people who do, are the real heroes of today.

Today I ate porridge with banana, lentil cottage pie, sweet potato and lentil curry with rice, one and a half mini banana muffins, four small slices of toast with homemade cream-cheese and one cup of tea. Meals totaled 74p for the day.
