I have eaten my final ‘below the line’ meal for this year. I’ve given my thanks that I don’t have to see rice, lentils or bananas for a good while again if I so wish. My fundraising target has been met by some kind and generous people. I have said all I want to say about this year’s challenge.
Although living on £1/day is over for me for another year, the daily struggle continues for millions. Please, please remember them and do what you can to make a difference, even just to one person’s life.
If you would like to change someone’s circumstances, you can do so by contributing to Tearfund via my giving page. But there are so many ways you can have an impact. This blog gives a number of simple suggestions of how to do so.
Today I ate oat pancakes with banana mash, sweet potato, lentil and chickpea curry with rice and naan bread, lentil bolognese with spaghetti, rice pudding, three banana muffins, one cup of tea and two cups of hot water. Meals totaled 105p (oops!) for the day.
“Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.”
